Susan and Jack Rudin Leadership Conferences

for High School Girls

Summer 2009 Program Dates:
To Be Determined

"…leadership is more about understanding and working together than necessarily standing out...the conference was awesome!"

"I enjoyed the atmosphere, the honesty, and the relationships with other girls. I really felt I could be myself."

"[I learned] a lot about myself and what steps need to be taken for me to achieve my goals and make a difference."

*All quotes are from girls who attended a High School Leadership Conference.

The Center seeks to provide opportunities for high school girls to consider new models of leadership and their own capacities for exercising leadership. Conference participants interact with women who have distinguished themselves through their career and personal choices.

Activities during the conference include a community service project, the development of action plans to create positive change, a workshop titled College 101, a trip into Boston, and more. The conference provides information and practice in areas important for leadership development: confidence, getting into college, goal setting, communication skills, managing relationships, and working as a team.

Our goal is to help girls develop skills they can use when they return to their schools to solve problems, support their peers, and work on behalf of the common good.

Each Conference takes place on Pine Manor College's 60-acre campus, in Chestnut Hill, a quiet suburb 15 minutes from downtown Boston. Criteria for Conference registration are:

  • Fifteen to eighteen years of age
  • Involvement in school, community or family activities
  • Ability to contribute to the learning of others
  • Openness to growth and creativity

The fee of $150 includes two nights of accommodation in residence halls, meals, use of recreational facilities, programming and materials. If you would like to register, please complete our easy on-line Registration Form! There is a $50 registration deposit, which you can pay on-line or indicate that you will mail a check. Once you've submitted your registration, you will be sent a confirmation with more details about the conference schedule. The balance of the fee ($100) is due the day you arrive for the Conference. Limited financial assistance is available. Please make inquiries about financial assistance to the number listed in the sidebar.
