Library Overview

The Annenberg Library offers a comfortable and inviting environment for study and research. Open 72 hours per week during the regular academic year, library facilities include: the Information Commons; the Class of 1912/Rauch Instructional Materials Room, containing curriculum materials and instructional aids in support of teacher certification; the Moncrief Special Collections Room; group study and conference rooms; and a 24 hour study space.

The Library currently holds over 65,000 volumes and subscribes to a wide array of journals and periodicals in a variety of formats, including print, microform and electronic full text. The Library’s extensive collection of print and electronic sources supports the curriculum of Pine Manor College. Electronic reference resources include Lexis Academic, InfoTrak, PsycInfo, CountryWatch, Data Monitor and many others. Reference librarians are always available to provide individual or group instruction in the use of research resources. The Annenberg Library also offers passes to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

The Information Commons is the center for information discovery, teaching and learning. Located in the Library Loft, the IC consists of 30 personal computers providing access to the Internet, the online library catalog, electronic databases, image editing tools, e-mail, office productivity software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and web authoring tools. It is staffed by the Information Technology Librarian who is skilled in answering both research and technology questions.

The Library is a member of the MetroWest Regional Library System, as well as of WEBnet, a consortium linking the libraries of Babson College, Olin College of Engineering, PMC and Regis College. Through a shared online catalog, students, faculty and staff of the WEBnet colleges have access to holdings of more than 350,000 items. WEBnet provides daily (Mon.–Fri.) book and journal article delivery between the WEBnet colleges. The Library is also a member of OCLC, a network of more than 50,000 libraries.

The Annenberg Library and Communications Center also houses the Hess Art Gallery, the Brown Learning Resource Center, WPMC (a student-run radio station), a video studio, and the Kresge Lecture Hall.
