The B.A. Program in Biology and Pre-Medicine
provides a strong foundation in the traditional disciplines
of biology and chemistry and introduces the fields of molecular
biology and human genetics. The program emphasizes the functions
of human organisms as well as their interactions with other
biological systems. All Biology majors are required to take
the core courses; students then choose a four-course concentration.
Concentrations within the major include: Pre-Med
and Allied Health, Marine/ Environmental Studies, Biopsychology,
Community Healthcare Outreach, and Teacher
Licensure (Grades 812) Further courses are listed
under Marine/ Environmental
Studies Concentration . The Biology major provides the foundation
for the 2+2
Nursing Program with Boston College.
