A.S. Concentration in Biology

The Biology concentration focuses on the study of living organisms
and the nature of biological processes.
Course of study for the A.S.:
- BI 101 Principles of Biology
Any four of the following:
- BI 204 Zoology
- BI 205 Anatomy and Physiology I
- BI 206 Anatomy and Physiology II
- BI 220 Marine Biology
- BI 330 Microbiology and Human Infectious Disease
- BI 375 Human Genetics
- BI 345 Psychopharmacology: Drugs and Behavior
A.S. Concentration in Health Sciences
Coordinator: Michele M. Talbot, M.P.H.
The Health Sciences concentration lays a strong foundation for
further study at a college or a hospital in fields such as nursing,
respiratory therapy, radiological technology, or cytotechnology.
Course of study for the A.S.:
- BI 101 Principles of Biology (required)
- CH 102 Principles of Chemistry I
- CH 103 Principles of Chemistry II
or
- BI 205 Anatomy and Physiology I
- BI 206 Anatomy and Physiology II
Two Biology electives; one elective can be an internship at a cooperating
hospital or other appropriate site.
