CC 100
Developmental Writing

Designed particularly to provide intensive work in writing skills. Assignments focus on supporting generalizations, writing coherent and well-developed paragraphs, and the short essay. Grammar problems are discussed in the context of student writing. Student writing receives highly individualized attention. Fall and Spring.
Prerequisite:
Placement.

CC 101
College Composition I

Prepares students for the writing demands of other college courses. The course uses writing as a way to learn, as well as a means of communication. Readings, movies, and class discussion stimulate thinking and provide subject matter for student essays. Emphasizes the writing process, in particular, revisions and teacher-student conferences. Fall and Spring.
Prerequisite:
CC 100 or placement.

CC 102
College Composition II

Builds on the skills and processes introduced in CC 101, but introduces more challenging academic content and focuses on the rhetoric of analytic and persuasive writing and on the research paper. Fall and Spring.
Prerequisite:
CC 101 or placement.
