Accreditation

Pine Manor College is fully accredited to grant Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Arts, Associate of Science and Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing degrees by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, New England Association of Schools and College (NEASC).

In a letter to PMC's President dated December 20, 2011 the Commission explained that it was placing Pine Manor College on probation “because while it does not now meet the Commission’s standards on Students and Financial Resources, the Commission believes that the institution can meet the standards within two years”…and feels “the new President has taken swift and decisive action; her plans are serious, tough and creative.” The College is compliant with respect to the nine other NEASC standards. The implementation of the President’s plans will enable the College’s leadership to strengthen its revenue and programs, building on the abilities of its faculty, students, and staff and the loyalty of its alumnae.

Pine Manor College is accredited on probation by the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education, New England Association of Schools and Colleges, effective November 17, 2011. The Commission finds the institution is in danger of losing its accreditation because it is not in compliance with the standards on Students and Financial Resources. A statement providing further information about the probationary status is available on the website of the Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (http://cihe.neasc.org.).

Pine Manor College is grateful to receive NEASC’s continued support and its professional guidance during this time of transition.
