After Hours Care

When the Health & Wellness Center is closed…

The Health and Wellness Center is closed on weekends, holidays, during breaks and during the summer months. Although students are free to seek medical attention at the facility of their choice, the following options are located in close proximity to Pine Manor College. Students are responsible for any costs incurred. These may be covered through your health insurance policy.

Emergencies and Transportation

Emergencies that originate on campus during the hours when the Health and Wellness Center is open will be given prompt attention.

If illness should occur during the hours when the Health and Wellness Center is open, the student should go to Health and Wellness Center where appropriate treatment will be rendered. If the student is unable to walk to the Health Center, Campus Safety may be dispatched to transport the student. Students who need this assistance should call the student Health Center to request transportation.

In case of a minor accident when the Health Center is open, the injured student should be taken to Health and Wellness Center if she may be safely moved. If it seems inadvisable to move her, call the Health Center for instructions. If hospital or emergency treatment beyond that provided at the Health Center is indicated, the staff will make an appropriate referral.

IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURY: Dial Campus Safety at X7777 and give specific details, including the nature of the illness or injury, the student’s name, location of student (phone number and dorm and room number) If the medical emergency appears “life threatening “, request that an ambulance be summoned. Please do not call 911 directly; campus safety will call when informed of an emergency.

When the Health and Wellness Center is closed, a student requiring medical care should go to the Emergency Room at one of the area hospitals. (See Hospitals and Clinics). If transportation is not available, call Campus Safety at X7777 for assistance or to obtain a cab voucher.

Please note: The Bursar will assess cab charges to your student account.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOU CARRY YOUR HEALTH INSURANCE IDENTIFICATION CARD WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.
