Newspaper, Magazine, and Academic Journal Articles

  • Expanded Academic ASAP/InfoTrac: Search by artist name, period, genre. For specific work use, for example: Vermeer, works. Articles are within journals.
  • Academic Search Premier : This multi-disciplinary database provides full text for more than 4,500 journals, including full text for more than 3,700 peer-reviewed titles. PDF backfiles to 1975 or further are available for well over one hundred journals, and searchable cited references are provided for more than 1,000 titles.
  • ProQuest Historical Newspapers The New York Times (1851 - 2007) : Click on "Databases Selected" from the top menu and scroll down to select the database.
  • LexisNexis: Search by artist name, specific work or period. Use to access recent information about: exhibitions, restoration, archeology.
  • Electronic Resources from the Boston Public Library: Register for an eCard from www.bpl.org, Click on "My Account" and register for an eCard using your PMC student address. The BPL's electronic databases include JSTOR, The Bibliography of the History of Art, Wilson's Art Full Text, and Oxford Art Online.
