LONGMEADOW, Mass.— Pine Manor College Women's Soccer fell to host Bay Path College, 5-0 on Monday afternoon in Longmeadow, MA. Both teams were forced to navigate heavy rain and wind throughout the match but in the end the Wildcats came away with the shutout victory to improve to 5-5-1 overall. The Gators fall to 2-6-0 with the setback.
Bay Path senior midfielder Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, NH) scored the first and game-winning goal at 16:57 of the first half before adding another at 32:20 on a feed from junior Megan Tancredi (Newington, CT), beating PMC goalkeeper Natasha Kopystynsky (Johnsburg, IL) for her second goal of the game.
Kopystsky finished the match with 14 saves on 19 Bay Path shots on goal.
Bay Path would add three more goals in the second half. The first came from freshman Kristen Lynch (Belchertown, MA) at 57:03 on the clock. Bay Path senior Emily Serrano (Savoy, MA) then deliverd a strike for the fourth goal at 79:37 before delivering a pass to junior midfielder Marina Rhodes (Providence, RI), who put away the fifth goal of the match with her head.
Pine Manor returns to action on Wednesday night when they travel to Buzzards Bay, MA to take on Mass. Maritime at 7:00 PM.
