Borrowing from other libraries

Step One: Minuteman Library Network

As a member of the Minuteman Library Network, Pine Manor College students, faculty, and staff can borrow books and other items from the 43 member libraries. If you need a book or item that Pine Manor College does not have, please search the Minuteman online library catalog.  You can request a book online and have it delivered to Pine Manor College. For more information on the Minuteman Library Network click here.

Step Two: Commonwealth Catalog (ComCat)

If you do not find what you are looking for in the Minuteman Library Network, try searching ComCat, which is a statewide interlibrary loan program.   ComCat gives you access to millions of items from academic, public and special libraries throughout the state of Massachusetts. Once you request an item through ComCat it usually takes a few days for your local library to receive it and you'll get an email saying that you can pick it up.  You'll also return the item to your local library. To log on to ComCat please click here.

Step Three: Books or Articles through Interlibrary Loan

Request an item through interlibrary loan when items are not available from the Pine Manor College Library, the Minuteman Library Network or ComCat.  Submit your request to a PMC librarian by clicking on Books or Articles.

If you need assistance with any of these steps, please feel free to ask a librarian or email

Ecards at the Boston Public Library

Did you know that as a resident student or faculty in Massachusetts, you can get a free eCard for the Boston Public Library? BPL eCards are virtual library cards that allow users immediate entry to all of the BPL's remotely-accessible electronic resources, including article databases such as JStor.

Register for an eCard using your PMC or local mailing address.
