PMC Ranked Number One Nationally
for Diverse Student Body
The
2004 edition of US News & World Report Americas Best Colleges
ranked PMC #1 for campus diversity among liberal arts colleges (Bachelors
level) in the United States. The ranking is based on the likelihood
of any student interacting with other racial or ethnic groups different
from their own.
In fulfilling its mission, PMC strives to create opportunities for
students to work closely with others, learning from differences and
creating learning outcomes together. Every aspect of the students
college experience is designed to enhance inclusive leadership. The
ultimate aim is to equip all PMC graduates with the tools to make positive
change in their own communities for the rest of their lives.
With a student body that is a microcosm of the range of diversity in
America today, PMC is a great learning laboratory.

Student Satisfaction Survey administered in November 2003.]
...a welcoming new environment
from what I had grown up in
You will not find this
at other schools.
I like the idea that
we're all different and
we can get to know each other...
I have the opportunity
to work with students and staff
from different races,
ethnicities, and backgrounds.
Before I came to PMC
I had very little opportunity
to experience diversity.
PMC has shown me
how valuable diversity is
and this has changed me
for the better.
The diversity is
one of the best aspects
of the school,
allowing the students
to see the world
through each other's eyes.
I've met a whole lot of
students from countries
I didn't even know existed.
I'm proud I go to a school
with so much diversity.
I've made friends
with people I thought
I'd have nothing in common with.
I think the diversity
on campus is enriching
my college experience.
