Mass. Maritime pulled to within one run in the top of the fifth when junior Meghan Weir (North Andover, Mass. ) hit a two-out double in to right field to score Sherman and cut the PMC advantage to 4-3.
In the bottom of the fifth, Pine Manor loaded the bases again but Mass. Maritime starter Cassidy Nice (Carver, Mass.) was unable to get out of the jam for the third straight inning as Ogiso, Rose, and Soto each picked up an RBI in the inning and Kirylo delivered a two-RBI single to left field before scoring on a passed ball to give the Gators an 11-3 advantage and the game two victory in five innings.
Mass. Maritime will return to action tomorrow afternoon when they take on conference-foe Salem St. at 2:00 PM in Salem, Mass. The Gators will host their final home doubleheader of the season tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 PM versus Wheelock.
