The nurse's office is located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center, room 202.

Process to follow:

• For health concerns that originate on campus during the nurse’s office hoursstudent should go to the nurse to be assessed.
   
• In case of a minor accident during the nurse’s office hours, the injured student should be taken to the nurse if s/he may be safely moved. If student cannot be safely moved, the nurse should be notified.
  
  
• If hospital or emergency treatment beyond the scope of the nurse is indicated, the nurse will make an appropriate referral.

This is not a walk in clinic, you need to call and speak to a nurse before going to make sure they can treat your condition.You will be charged an office co-pay (with the school insurance it will cost $20.00)

For confidential medical advice call 1-800-850-4556, you will need to identify yourself with your insurance ID # which is on your card.The nurse on call will advise on what is the best way to treat your illness and what type of medical care you may need.

IN CASE OF SERIOUS ILLNESS OR INJURY:

Dial Campus Safety at X7777 and give specific details, including the nature of the illness or injury, the student’s name, location of student (phone number and dorm and room number). If the medical emergency appears “life threatening”, request that an ambulance be summoned. Please do not call 911 directly; campus safety will call when informed of an emergency.

When the nurse’s office is closed, a student seeking medical care should refer to one of the Acute Care options listed above or local area hospitals and clinics listed below. Students should look for safe transportation independent of the college. If transportation is not available, call Campus Safety at X7777 for assistance or to obtain a cab.

Please be aware that it is not advisable to go to a hospital emergency room for minor or common illness. Emergency rooms are best used for serious life threatening medical conditions. An emergency room co-payment can be $100.00 or more. You are responsible for all co-payments including co-payments for ambulance service.
