Career Exploration

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Don't worry if you don't know the answer. The Career Services & Experiential Learning Center can help you to identify potential careers. Make an appointment to meet with the staff, and come into the office to explore our Career Binders that include information on types of jobs that relate to academic majors and possible internship locations. We can help you to find careers that meet your interests, goals, and personality. The first step is to do a "self-assessment" a thoughtful reflection about your interests and goals, your skills and knowledge, and if certain work environments will be a good match for your personality and style. Knowing what you don't like to do can help you figure out what you do like to do. How do you find the career that's right for you?

Here are some ways to start a self-evaluation to determine what types of careers may be compatible with your values, interests, personality, and skills. We highly recommend The Career Interests Party Game. Once you have a list of jobs, then you can conduct detailed research on those occupations.
