Chestnut Hill, MA-- Pine Manor freshman shortstop Ashley Carusone (Nashua, NH/Nashua North) has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of April 12.
Carusone hit .500 on the week going 8-16 at the plate with a double a triple and two home runs. One of Carusone's home runs came in dramatic fashion as the freshman infielder hit a walk-off two run home run to defeat Mount Ida in game one of Sunday's doubleheader. This came just a day after Carusone reached base safely in all six of her plate appearances as the Gators swept GNAC foe Suffolk University.
