Head Coach: Bill Stargard
Coach Bill Stargard enters his thirteenth season with the Pine Manor College cross country team.
Stargard is fully committed to helping his runners reach their fullest potential. He welcomes athletes at all levels who take the sport seriously and are willing to work hard. In 2008, freshman Lindsey Segal-Bator, who previously never ran cross country, was named Great Northeast Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year under Stargard's tutelage. Pine Manor finished seventh in the GNAC in 2008, the team's best finish in Stargard's tenure.
The most veteran member of the Gators staff, Stargard works closely with each runner to understand her goals and needs, and provide an individualized approach to help each runner become faster and stronger. He also stresses the significance of being a teammate with a common goal of helping other teammates in practice and in meets.
The chair of the Arts and Humanities Division of the Pine Manor History Department, Stargard is a full-time tenured professor of art history at the College. He received his bachelor's of arts from Rutgers University and both his master's and Ph.D from Columbia University.
