Computer Savvy Volunteer Tutors — The Women's Union
We are looking for Computer Savvy Volunteers for our Technology Center. A 12 week commitment at various times is all it takes (3 hours / week). Provide 1 – 1 tutoring and assist instructor. Requires knowledge of MS Office. Call 617-536-5651 ext. 162 or email Deible@thewomensunion.org.
Tutors
The Teen Center at St. Peter’s in Dorchester is looking for
tutors to help primarily Cape Verdean local youth ages 13-18 improve
their basic reading, math and academic skills. Knowledge
of Cape Verdean Creole or Portuguese is a plus, but not a requirement.

HOSPICE OF BOSTON, INC. and HOSPICE OF GREATER BROCKTON
CLIENTS:
Terminally ill patients living at home.
SERVICES:
Nursing, social work, volunteers, home health aides, pastoral counseling, bereavement
support, and office volunteers.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Patient and family support, bereavement follow-up, and others.
VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS: All applicants are interviewed by the Volunteer Coordinator. References
are checked on all applicants. Those who are accepted undergo training
1 night per week for 6 weeks. Training programs are run twice a year,
in the spring and the fall. Documentation of time served and contact
sheets describing activity are required.
LANGUAGE: English, welcome Spanish and other languages.
SUPPORT/SUPERVISION: Monthly
support meetings.
TIME COMMITMENT:
2-4 hours per week for minimum of one year.
TRANSPORTATION: Volunteering
occurs at clients' homes and volunteers can be placed with clients in locations
convenient to them, and/or accessible by public transportation.
