Guide for Sophomores
- Start talking and exploring! Connect with Alumnae and other networks through the Office of Career Services. Job shadow and go on informational interviews. See Career Exploration to learn more.
- Join a professional organization or association to keep up with current trends in your interested career field/s. Now is the time to join because you can get a student discount.
- Participate in career service workshops.
- If you haven’t made an appointment with a career counselor, it is time to do it! She will help you get together a resume or update an old one. See the resume writing guide for further assistance.
- It is time to start participating more on campus. Enhance your leadership and teamwork skills through organizing activities. If you are interested in starting a club, talk to the Student Life office and share your ideas. Check out the current student organizations.
- Look into doing an Exploratory Internship to pursue a career that interests you and gain college credit, too! See the Exploratory Internship page for more information.
- Get a part-time job not just to earn money, but to gain skills and build your resume! Be sure that the hours do not interfere with your academics.
- Get a summer time job, internship or other learning opportunity!
