At Cone, we recognize and appreciate the energy, enthusiasm and fresh perspective that students offer our company. As a Cone intern, you will gain invaluable, hands-on experience in the fields of Brand Marketing and Cause Branding.

Working under the guidance of our talented, resourceful and dynamic mentors, each intern will be assigned to an account team. As an integral member of the team, the intern will assume responsibility for a number of support functions in a variety of areas. Interns will also attend workshops throughout the semester covering a wide range of critical Marketing Communications topics, as well as a career development session led by Chairman Carol Cone.

Cone Internships are for credit only and are offered during the Summer, Fall, and Spring. Cone offers internships in the following areas:

Public Television Intern

Various unpaid internships for college credit involve some or all of the following projects: 1. Newsletter writing, layout and production. 2. Press kit writing. 3. Screening and evaluating unsolicited program submissions for possible distribution to public television stations. 4. Assist in the creation and distribution of marketing materials and information packets to prospective buyers. 5. Media research and database updating. 6. Website maintenance. 7. News/media clip archiving. 8. Other projects and duties as assigned, including data entry, filing and photocopying.
 

Computer Skills: Microsoft word, knowledge of Quark and Adobe Photoshop helpful but not required.

Special Skills: Proficiency in a second language (other than English) helpful but not required.

The Boston Ballet

Marketing/Communications Internship
The Ballet’s marketing department is responsible for creating, organizing and distributing all advertising print materials, TV ads, season brochures, newspaper and magazine ads, flyers, programs, informational brochures, and all press materials concerning Boston Ballet. Interns will work on a variety of projects with the marketing staff.

Ballet School Internship
Boston Ballet School has an enrollment of over 1300 students each year, providing dance training for students ages three to adult.  School interns will provide support in maintaining student records, help with organizing student bulletin boards, and assist in the day-to-day operations of the school.  We are looking for interns with computer skills, an interest in customer service and the desire to work in a performing arts environment.

Development/Special Events Internship
The development department raises funds for Boston Ballet, soliciting corporate, individual, government and foundation donors, and organizing fundraising events. Intern projects may include proposal development, prospect identification and preparation of news articles.

Production Internship
Interns in the Production area will gain direct back-stage technical experience, including calling shows. Candidates must have significant pre-professional theater arts training.

Who are we?
Broadway in Boston / Clear Channel Entertainment Group presents spectacular seasons of critically acclaimed Broadway musicals and plays every year at our four historic Boston theaters: The Colonial Theatre, The Wilbur Theatre, The Charles Playhouse, and the newly renovated Opera House. Broadway in Boston also co-presents shows at other local theatres. The goal of the program is to create a buzz on your campus surrounding Sophist’s first commercial release, ONEinSIX, and to generate sales from which you will earn commission. Tasks include contact management, campus promotions, publicity efforts, radio promotions, performance bookings, marketing, distribution, and sales. Sophist Productions will facilitate your campaign with the necessary promotional materials and a detailed program calendar for you to follow. Over the course of three months, interns will gain a first hand experience of what it really means to launch a record label and release an album in the highly competitive music industry. Sophist requires individuals that have the ability to be creative, responsible, outgoing, and effective. And while the program officially lasts for three months, an opportunity for permanent employment by Sophist Productions certainly exists for outstanding individuals. The durations of the internship is 3 months, beginning September 1 and ending December 1, 2005.

Sophist Productions is based in New York City, however the internship takes place on the college campus of participants. Sophist Productions is an established hip hop, reggae, and R&B record label seeking business-minded college students with an interest not just in music, but also in the incredible industry behind the scenes. The Sophist Label Launch program condenses all of the major movements that a record label must go through in order to release its first project.

The Phoenix Media/Communications Group internship program has been structured to provide beneficial and educational intern assignments to qualified and motivated college students, preferably those who would receive college credit. Boston Phoenix, STUFF@Night, and People2People Group internships are offered at our Boston offices; FNX Radio Network internships are offered at our Lynn and Portland sites; and opportunities in editorial, graphic design, research, finance and sales are offered at our Providence Phoenix and Portland Phoenix offices in those cities.

We are currently actively recruiting internships. Positions do tend to fill quickly, particularly in the editorial departments, so students should send resumes in as soon as possible. We require that all interns be enrolled in classes (summer interns must be enrolled for the following Fall semester) and must be able to make at least a 16-hour (summer), 10 (fall, spring) per week commitment to the company. All internships are unpaid. Because Civetta Comunicazioni is a small business, you will have the opportunity to learn and create your own role through invaluable hands-on experience. Responsibilities could include:

Public Relations:
