CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- The Great South Athletic Conference announced the spring sports week seven Players of the Week on Wednesday morning and Pine Manor College senior first baseman Kaylyn Delgado (Worcester, MA) was named the spring sports week seven softball Player of the Week.
Delgado drove in 15 RBIs to help lead the Gators to a 6-2 record last week. Delgado totaled 17 hits in 23 at bats, hitting .739 on the week while hitting a pair of doubles, a triple and hitting three home runs. Delgado went back-to-back with PMC freshman Chardonai Rose during a Wednesday sweep of Daniel Webster. She then hit a grand slam in a set back to Gordon College on Friday before hitting a three-run home run to help the Gators to a doubleheader sweep of New Rochelle on Sunday. Delgado also collected five walks to bring her on-base percentage for the week to .786
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
