Timetable: 9:00 - 3:00, Monday to Thursday
9:00 - 12:30, Friday

The University Preparation Program is specifically designed for students who are considering study at a U.S. college or university after completing their English course.

This challenging course not only prepares you for the TOEFL, but also concentrates on the skills necessary for academic success.

The 30 lessons each week are divided as follows:

  • Twenty-four lessons per week in Academic Reading, Applied Grammar and Writing, and Conversation and Critical Thinking. All courses emphasize developing the necessary skills for university study in the USA.
  • Six lessons per week specializing in:
    • Preparation for TOEFL exam
    • Oral/Presentation Skills
    • Vocabulary Development
    • Advanced Essay Writing
    • Study Skills
    • The social, cultural, and academic life at a university in the USA

Self-study and homework assignments are part of your course. You will be expected to complete your self-study assignments and may use our multi-media centers and specialized software.

Academic counseling and university placement are offered to all students interested in learning more about study at a university in the USA. The Institute's staff offers assistance in researching information and completing applications.

Students interested in the UPP are encouraged to attend for at least 16 weeks.
