Entrepreneur in Residence Program

One of the goals of the Business and Management department at Pine Manor College is to expose our students to pragmatic instruction in the formation and development of new businesses. With the Business and Management curriculum evolving to meet twenty-first-century expectations, entrepreneurship provides our graduates an additional avenue for business success. The Entrepreneur in Residence program compliments the classroom experience and brings it to life. What students learn becomes relevant because they can interact with a business person that has worked through the process that starts with an idea and eventually becomes a viable business.

We are asking experienced entrepreneurs to participate in workshops, lectures and provide mentorship for students who want to start a business. Our goal for the Entrepreneur in Residence program is to create an entrepreneurial spirit in our Business and Management students and in the Pine Manor College community.

We are happy to have Jeffrey Ross as the program’s inaugural ‘Entrepreneur-in-Residence’.

JEFFREY ROSS ENTREPRENEUR-IN-RESIDENCE

The Entrepreneur-in-Residence program’s goal is to assist in the development of an entrepreneurial community at Pine Manor College. The program was established to address the growing needs of PMC students - and more speci cally of students who are majoring in Business and Management - to have an in-depth understanding of building and growing a business. Professor Joseph P. Fargnoli sees this program as a great opportunity to bring business leaders and innovators to share their knowledge and experiences to benefit our students.

Pine Manor College is fortunate to have Jeffrey Ross, a leading business entrepreneur, as its inaugural Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Ross is Managing Partner of Glenoe Associates LLC, and his extensive business experience includes management, acquisitions & sales of businesses, with a focus on corporate restructuring and strategic business growth.

Ross has been responsible for operation and development of three mid-sized retailing and retirement services corporations. He brings vast experience in building management teams and creating successful growth strategies for signi cantly increased revenue. Among his management team’s achievements are growing companies to signi cant enterprises, for example growing a Drug Store Chain to 31 stores (the chain was sold to CVS); business development of Pet Store Group to 17 stores (the company was sold to PetSmart), and restructuring of Assisted Living Corporation with nationwide expansion of its operations.

“We are excited to have Mr. Ross join our community as Entrepreneur-in-Residence”, said President Tom O’Reilly, “His wealth of experience is sure to enrich and broaden the scope of entrepreneurial thinking at Pine Manor College. We encourage and empower our students to dream big – having access to the knowledge and skills that Mr. Ross can offer is invaluable in expanding one’s possibilities.”

Through his consulting company, Glenoe Associates (www.glenoeassoc.com), Ross now focuses on helping mid-size businesses ranging from $5M to $200M, with strategic planning, operational reorganization, bank  nancing, and purchase & sale of assets. Founding investor and board member of Boston Market, Jeff is a graduate of Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, BS in Pharmacy, and Harvard Business School, OPM-5 Executive Education Program.
