Fisher Overpowers Gators in Doubleheader Sweep

LYNN, Mass. -- Pine Manor College softball dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader to host fisher College on Saturday evening. The Falcons defeated the Gators 18-1 in game one before taking a 20-8 victory in game two. Both games ended in five innings.

Fisher launched nine home runs over the two games to secure the sweep and improve to 7-16 on the season. The Gators fall to 0-4 early in their 2014 campaign.

PMC senior Macayla Kirylo (Pawtucket, R.I), pictured above, hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to break the shut out in game one. Kirylo added an RBI and two hits in game two. Freshman Alexis Bushika (Adams, Mass.) drove in four runs on three hits in the nightcap while sophomore Chardonai Rose (Fairfield, Cailf.) had two hits, two runs scored and two RBI. The heart of Gators' order combined for seven hits and seven RBIs in game two.

Pine Manor will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to take on local rival Suffolk University at 3:00 PM.
