Chestnut Hill, MA – On Sunday June 5, 2011, relatives and friends of the late Milton G. Green came together to honor the former Pine Manor trustee for a ceremony to rededicate the fitness room at Pine Manor Gymnasium in his honor. Joined by Pine Manor College President Gloria Nemerowicz, Green’s friends and family helped to unveil a new plaque honoring Green in the newly renamed Milton G. Green Fitness Room at Pine Manor College.
A gift of Stephen and Patricia Green Dunn, the fitness room was given in honor of former Pine Manor College Trustee Milton G. Green. Also a member of the Harvard Athletics Hall of Fame, Green held the 1936 Intercollegiate and World Record for High Hurdles. Remodeled just a few years ago, the Milton G. Green Fitness Room features state-of-the-art training, nautilus and free weight equipment as well as a full line of Precor treadmills, stationary bicycles, and elliptical machines.
“I remember Milton fondly,” said President Nemerowicz to members of Green’s family. “And, I know that he would be proud to have his name on this facility and to know how important this facility is to the entire Pine Manor community.”
In addition to President Nemerowicz, members of Green’s family shared stories of his affinity for everything from family to friends to fitness and food. Open year-round to members of the Pine Manor community the Milton G. Green Fitness room is located on the second floor of Pine Manor Gymnasium.
