Gator Comeback Falls Short Against Lesley

Pine Manor dropped a tough 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 15-25, 17-25) decision to Lesley University on Tuesday, October 12.

After dropping the first 25-17, the Gators rallied back to capture their own 25-17 victory in the second set, tying the match at a set a piece. Freshman Megan Patch (Bethpage, TN/Red Boiling Springs) dished out 19 set assists on the evening, while freshman Imara Jackson (Malden, MA/Mystic Valley Charter) led the Gators with 6 kills and sophomore Alie Johnston (Winnipeg, Manitoba/River East Collegiate) and junior Jennifer Gross (Coral Springs, FL/Coral Glades) each added 5 kills.

However, Lesley would respond with a commanding 25-15 victory in the third set. Led by sophomore Amanda McCracken (Eldersburg,MD/Liberty), 14 kills and classmate Megan Ortwein, 9 kills, the Lynx would pull away for good as they moved on to secure the fourth set 25-17 and the match 3-1. With the victory Lesley runs its overall record to 10-7, while Pine Manor drops to 6-9 overall.

The Gators will head on the road this Thursday to Nashua, NH for a contest against defending NECC champion Daniel Webster College. The match starts at 7 pm.
