BOSTON -- Pine Manor fell to 0-7 in GNAC play with a 7-0 loss to third-place Emmanuel Saturday afternoon at Roberto Clemente Field.
Emmanuel first struck at 23:56, when Meghan Zerba beat Gators keeper Colleen Tencza for the first goal of what would become her first career hat trick. Just over two minutes later, Kate McKenna added her 14th goal of the season off one of Meghan Long's two assists on the day.
Stephanie Levesque scored on one of Amber Di Nucci's three assists to put the Saints up 3-0 just inside halftime, never to look back. An unassisted Di Nucci goal in the 66th minute put Emmanuel ahead 6-0, giving the junior five points on the afternoon. Two more Zerba goals in the next 10 minutes completed the freshman's hat trick.
The Saints weren't in a giving mood, holding Pine Manor to three total shots to their 26, outshooting the visitors 17-2 in the first half. Emmanuel (8-5-1, 6-2-1 GNAC) bested the Gators 9-1 in corner kicks.
For Pine Manor (2-7-1, 0-7 GNAC), Tencza made 13 saves, marking the third straight contest in which the freshman has totaled double-digit saves.
The Gators return to the field on Monday, playing host to Albertus Magnus in a 1 p.m. Columbus Day tilt.
