Box Score

ATLANTA, Ga. -- Salem College softball scored eight runs on eleven hits over six innings to defeat Pine Manor College 8-0 in six innings on Saturday afternoon at Shirley Clements Mewborn Field at Georgia Tech. The Gators' second loss of the weekend eliminates PMC from the 2014 GSAC Championship Tournament. Pine Manor is now 4-12 on the season.

Mutsumi Ogiso (Gifu, Japan), above, and Chardonai Rose (Fairfield, Calif.) each recorded a hit in the contest but Pine Manor was unable to score a run off Salem starter Lauryn Smith or reliever Morgan Coleman as the two combined for a six inning shutout of the Gators.

The Gators best chance of the day came in the second inning when a pair of walks and Ogiso's base hit loaded the bases for Cathryn White (Douglas, Mass.) with two outs. However, Smith was able to strikeout White to retire the side.
