BOSTON, MA -- Pine Manor won for the fourth time in five games, earning a sweep of Suffolk Friday evening, 9-3 and 10-2, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference softball play.
The Gators exploded for a season-high 17 hits in support of Game 2 starter Tia Nelson, who pitched a four-hitter in picking up her fourth win of the season.
In Game 1, Michelle Myers went 2-for-3 with her league-leading fifth triple and two runs scored. Courtney Wallace went 1-for-2 with two RBI's and two walks, and Kayla Nielsen went 2-for-4 with three runs. Jess Kennedy also went 2-for-4 in the early game.
In the night cap, senior Siobhan Raymond went 3-for-5 with two RBI's, and Wallace went 3-for-4 with four runs scored. Kaylyn Delgado drove in three, while Nielsen scored three times in the 9-2 win.
With her four hits, Wallace moved to within two hits of tying Meghan Goss as the all-time hits leader in Pine Manor history.
The Gators take on Emmanuel, visiting the Saints on Saturday at noon. On Sunday, Pine Manor will honor seniors Wallace, Raymond, Michelle Myers and Veronica Vozzolo before its noon home double header against Albertus Magnus.
