Gerrish Named Head Volleyball Coach

       

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. -- Pine Manor College has named Alyssa Gerrish Head Volleyball Coach, it was announced today by Director of Athletics John Griffith.

A three-sport athlete in Volleyball, Basketball and Softball at Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, MA, Gerrish was captain of both the volleyball and softball teams during her senior season and has since returned to the volleyball program to serve as a coach in various capacities , most recently serving as the Junior Varsity Head Coach during the 2010 season.

As J.V Head Coach, Gerrish also served as an assistant with the varsity program, organizing team workouts and practices throughout the season to help the Cardinals to a 16-8 overall record during the 2010 season. Prior to working with the J.V. and Varsity programs, Gerrish served as the head coach of the Cardinal Spellman freshmen team in 2009.

In 2011, Gerrish served as the Sports Camp Director at the Skyhawks Sports Academy , managing the coaching staff at the camp while organizing drills and schedules to teach a variety of sports.

Gerrish was also a standout softball player in both high school and college. As a member of the C.W. Post (Long Island) Softball team from 2006-2009, Gerrish helped the Pioneers to back-to-back East Coast Conference Championships in 2007 and 2008 as well as back-to-back appearances in the Division II Softball College World Series.

A 2010 graduate of Bridgewater State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, Gerrish currently works at Spectrum Health Systems and resides in Hanover, MA.
