Kristen Rose of Finlandia claimed the elite Freshman of the Year distinction while Huntingdon's head coach, Gynger Williams, earned the Coach of the Year nod following voting by her peers.
Brittany Richardson, a senior catcher from Muscle Shoals, Ala., was the straw that stirred the drink for the Hawks this season. Richardson was an All-Conference selection as a junior before an injury cut her season short. As a senior, she has returned from injury and dominated. In 95 at-bats this season, she is batting .484 with six home runs, 10 doubles, 23 RBIs, 31 runs and a .779 slugging percentage. She also has 11 stolen bases. As a catcher, she has thrown out 10 base runners and has not committed an error in 31 games. Against GSAC competition, she has a .604 batting average with two home runs, 12 RBIs, 17 runs and a .896 slugging percentage.

Rose batted .464 in 2013 with a .515 on-base percentage and a robust .881 slugging percentage. She scored 43 runs and drove home an additional 35 for Finlandia while displaying power along the way with 8 homers in 2013.
Gynger Williams helmed her Huntingdon squad to a 23-9 overall record and a perfect 16-0 mark in GSAC play. Williams broke into the coaching profession in 1995 at Calhoun Community College, following a successful playing career both at Calhoun and Athens State College. Williams joined the Huntingdon staff in 2012 following two seasons at Northwest-Shoals Community College in Muscle Shoals, Ala.
