In 2009, Jess Blair successfully completed her inaugural season as the Gators head coach. In her collegiate head coaching debut, Blair took a program that remained winless in three seasons since reacquiring Division III status and almost instantly gained respectability, earning four wins in the process.
After joining the New England Select Lacrosse League (NESLL) in March 2007, Blair served as one of the league’s six Under-15 head coaches. Coach Blair also served on the staff for one of three NESLL select summer teams that travel to major tournaments throughout the East Coast.
A 2005 graduate of Endicott College in Beverly, MA, Blair was a four year starter for the Gulls and was named co-captain for the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Blair possessed unparalleled stick skills as one of Endicott’s top midfielders, consistently contributing ground balls and draw controls. During her career at Endicott, she represented the Lower New England team in the 2004 US Lacrosse Women's National Tournament at Lehigh University. In 2003, as a sophomore, she set the Gulls school record for draw controls.
In 2005, due to a lack of post-collegiate playing opportunities in the region, Blair co-founded the Boston Blizzards, the second women's post-collegiate club lacrosse team in Boston. As co-founder, she was responsible for game scheduling, maintenance of US Lacrosse membership and general operations of the team.
She also served as assistant director of the Gilman Lacrosse Camp in the summer of 2005, where she assisted with the planning and organizing of the camp, as well as the coaching and instruction of individuals and teams. During her time at Endicott, Blair spent her 2003 summer at Spirit Sports Camp, at North Bridgton Academy in Maine, as a counselor and coach for soccer and lacrosse.
Blair hails from Middlebury, VT and currently resides in South Boston. She also works for Wellington Management.
