Paxton, MA -- Pine Manor dropped a 15-6 decision to Anna Maria College on Monday afternoon in Paxton, MA. Anna Maria opened the game with five unanswered goals and outshot the Gators 39-15 as they picked up their second win of the season. Molly Manley (East Greenbush, NY/Columbia), three goals, and Beth Deegan (Philadelphia, PA/Little Flower Catholic School for Girls), two goals, led the way for Pine Manor.
Anna Maria found itself in control by the midway point of the first when junior Katie Schebel scored to give the home team the 5-0 advantage. The goal was the first of five goals on the day for Schebel. Schebel finished the game with six points, tying for game-high scoring honors with classmate Amanda Hevy who scored four goals and had two assists.
Trailing 8-3 at the start of the second half, Manley scored to cut the lead to 8-4. However, Anna Maria went on a 4-0 run following Manley's goal to put the game out of reach at 12-4. Manley and Deegan would each add second half markers for the Gators before the game ended in favor of the home team, 15-6.
Still in search of their first win of the season, the Gators will travel to Regis College next Monday for a 7:00 p.m. start.
