Chef Cindy Black '76, San Diego Magazine's Chef of the Year 1996 will speak on The French Experience: From Balzac to Bocuse to Black as part of PMC's Anne P. Nicholson '40 Distinguished Lecture Series on Thursday, November 4, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. in the Founder's Rom after a culinary demonstration at 4:30 p.m., also in the Founder's Room.
Cindy Black received her Professional Chef's Diploma at Madeleine Kamman's Modern Gourmet Cooking School before apprenticing in Magesoq, France. Soon after, she became known as one of America's top chef's. Ms. Black has won numerous awards including those from Food & Wine Magazine, DiRoNA, The Wine Spectator, Zagat, and San Diego Magazine's "People to Watch." She is chef and owner of Sheppard's in La Jolla, California. This lecture is sponsored by PMC's French Program.
