RANDOLPH, Vermont -- Sophomore Alexis Lee (Akron, Ohio), above, scored a career-high 33 points while classmate Ari DeJesus (Providence, R.I.) recorded a triple-double of 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Pine Manor College women's basketball to a 98-66 victory at Vermont Tech on Sunday afternoon.
Freshman Maria Vaughan (Okinawa, Japan) also finished with a double-double, scoring 13 points while dishing out 12 assists in the contest. Classmate Jayva Johnson (West Haven, Conn.) fell just short of a double-double of her own, scoring 10 points and grabbing nine rebounds for the Gators, who improve to 17-3 overall.
Pine Manor shot 51 percent from the field in the contest, collecting 33 assists and 17 steals as a team en route to the convincing 98-66 victory.
Ama Baker scored a team-high 26 points for the Knights, adding eight rebounds and tying for team-high honors in assists with five. Paige Wells also had five assists and finished with 19 points and a team-high nine rebounds for Vermont Tech. The Knights drop to 10-12 with the defeat, their second this season at the hands of the Gators.
Vermont Tech will look to bounce back on Wednesday evening when they host SUNY Canton. Pine Manor will be back in action tomorrow when they Play 4Kay and host Becker College at 7:00 PM.
