BOSTON, MA -- Emerson opened the game with seven straight goals in a 20-2 rout over the Gators in Great Northeast Athletic Conference women's lacrosse play at Rotch Playground Thursday night.
Beth Deegan broke the Pine Manor drought with an unassisted score at 23:50. The Lions went into halftime with a 13-1 lead, having outshot the Gators 27-7 and outgained the visitors 18-5 in ground balls.
The Lions scored six straight to open the second before Deegan's second goal of the game in the final minutes. Emerson was led by Nicole Lecuyer, Christina Riccitelli and Amy Gervis, who scored three goals a piece.
Pine Manor returns to action on Saturday at St. Joseph (CT) at noon.
