Post-Graduate Programs

Writers with an MFA degree who wish to complete a one-year CERTIFICATE in a genre other than their MFA’s concentration and who hope to begin in winter/spring 2020 will need to apply to the program by Monday, December 16, 2019; for a summer/fall 2020 start: apply by Monday, May 11, 2020. Writers with an MFA degree wishing to undertake a POST-GRADUATE SEMESTER (no on-campus residency) to hone or complete a manuscript this winter/spring 2020 will need to apply to the program by Monday, December 16, 2019; for a summer/fall 2020 start: apply by Monday, June 8, 2020. Applicants to our MFA in Creative Writing Program:

The winter 2020 residency, which begins our spring semester, will take place from January 3 – January 12.

The Solstice Program features rolling admissions year-round. Writers who apply by November 18, 2019* may be offered a space in the winter 2020 residency (start of spring term).

*Applicants who wish to be considered for any of our genre-based Fellowships should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the application form) by October 28, 2019. See our Fellowships, Scholarships, & Financial Aid page for details.

The summer 2020 residency, which begins our fall semester, is set for July 10 to 19.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Writers who submit general applications by April 30, 2020** may be offered a space in the summer 2020 residency/fall semester. Following that date, all acceptances will be for the winter 2021 residency/spring semester.

**Applicants who wish to be considered for the Kurt Brown Fellowship for Diverse Voices should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the form) by April 15, 2020. Please note that the Kurt Brown Fellowship application requires a short essay.

Those interested in receiving financial aid are advised to complete the FAFSA form in tandem with their MFA application. Students who hope to receive a PMC need-based grant should submit their application and the FAFSA as early as possible.
