Deadlines

The winter 2019 residency, which begins our spring semester, will take place from January 4 – January 13.

The Solstice Program features rolling admissions year-round. Writers who apply by November 5, 2018* may be offered a space in the winter 2019 residency (start of spring term).

*Applicants who wish to be considered for the Frances L. Toner Fellowship for Veterans or any of our genre-based Fellowships should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the application form) by the October 15, 2018 postmark deadline See our Fellowships, Scholarships, & Financial Aid page for details.

The summer 2019 residency, which begins our fall semester, is set for July 5 to 14.

We accept applications on a rolling basis. Writers who submit general applications by April 22, 2019** may be offered a space in the summer 2019 residency/fall semester. Following that date, all acceptances will be for the winter 2020 residency/spring semester.

**Applicants who wish to be considered for the Debra Jean Fellowship for Nontraditional Students or the Kurt Brown Fellowship for Diverse Voices should submit the general application form (check the box on page four of the form) by March 18, 2019. Please note that the Kurt Brown Fellowship application requires a short essay.

Those interested in receiving financial aid are advised to complete the FAFSA form in tandem with their MFA application. Students who hope to receive a PMC need-based grant should submit their application and the FAFSA as early as possible.

Writers with an MFA degree wishing to complete a CERTIFICATE in winter/spring 2019 will need to apply to the program by Monday, December 10, 2018 (5 p.m. EST); for a summer/fall 2019 start: apply by Monday, May 14, 2019 (5 p.m. EST). Certificate Program information can be found here:
