PMC Partners with Boston College
Nursing Program,
Beginning in September 2004

In late June, PMC President Gloria Nemerowicz announced the launching
of a collaborative articulated 2 + 2 Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Program in conjunction with the William F. Connell School of Nursing
at Boston College, which will begin in September 2004.
In making the announcement of the new program, President Nemerowicz
said, We are delighted with this new collaborative effort
with Boston College. During their first two years at PMC, interested
students will be able to take introductory nursing courses at Boston
College, which is less than a mile from our campus. Working closely
with their academic advisors, they will then determine whether a
nursing career is what they really want.
Students successfully completing the 2-year collaborative
program will then have the option of transferring to BCs School
of Nursing for their junior and senior years to complete their degree,
Dean of the College Nia Lane Chester explained. It is a win-win
situation for everyone.
To participate in the program students need to have taken a minimum
of 2 years of high school science, including biology and chemistry,
and 3 of math, including algebra I and II and geometry. While in
the program they need to maintain of minimum 3.2 GPA at PMC and
obtain at least a C+ in the three required courses at Boston College.
