NORTHFIELD, VT -- Kathleen Hennessy scored four goals and added two assists, and Kacey Abbriano posted four goals and one assist as the Norwich defeated Pine Manor, 16-2, in Great Northeast Athletic Conference lacrosse Friday afternoon at Howard Field.
Sophomore Beth Deegan and freshman Myrell Redmond scored the Gators goals. Redmond has now scored a goal in six consecutive games to start her Pine Manor career.
Norwich took a 9-0 lead into halftime and upped it to 10-0 before Deegan got the Gators on the board with an unassisted goal. For the game, the Cadets outshot Pine Manor 36-9 and earned a 51-22 advantage in ground balls over the undermanned Gators.
In goal, Colleen Tencza made nine saves for Pine Manor.
The Gators are in action again on Monday at Rivier at 7 p.m.
