Pine Manor College presents Summer Reading Series

 

The Solstice MFA in Creative Writing Program of Pine Manor College announces its Summer Reading Series. Readings will be held in the Founder’s Room of Pine Manor College, 400 Heath St., Chestnut Hill, and are FREE and open to the public. Authors' books will be available for signing, and there is plenty of FREE parking.

Friday, July 10, at 7:30 p.m.: Iain Haley Pollock (“Spit Back A Boy,” winner of the 2010 Cave Canem Poetry Prize); Renée Watson (“This Side of Home;” “Harlem’s Little Blackbird: The Story of Florence Mills”); and Sterling Watson (“Fighting in the Shade” and “Suitcase City”).

Saturday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m.: Program Director Meg Kearney (“Home by Now” and “Trouper”); Randall Horton (“Pitch Dark Anarchy” and “Hook: A Memoir”); and Anne-Marie Oomen (“An American Map: Essays” and “Love, Sex, and 4H”).

Sunday, July 12 at 7:30 p.m.: Associate Director Tanya Whiton (“Two for the Road: Adventures in Maine”); Laura Williams McCaffrey (“Water Shaper” and the forthcoming “Marked”); and Cave Canem Partner Poet Douglas Brown (“Zero to Three”).

Friday, July 17, at 7:30 p.m.: Special guest Jo Solfrian (“Visible Heavens,” winner of the 2009 Wick Prize); special guest Eric Gansworth (author of 10 books, including the young-adult novel “If I Ever Get out of Here”) and Jedediah Berry (“The Manual of Detection” and the forthcoming “The Family Arcana: A Story in Cards”).
