ATLANTA, Ga. - The Great South Athletic Conference announced the winter sports week fourteen Player of the Week on Wednesday morning and women’s basketball player and Sybil Lynch of Pine Manor College was selected as the winner through exclusive voting by the league sports information directors.
Lynch led the Gators in scoring during both of their games this week, including a 79-68 victory over Fisher College on Wednesday. Lynch scored a then career-high 23 points versus Fisher on Wednesday, while also collecting five rebounds, two steals and a pair of assists. The freshman from Hoboken, NJ then followed that performance by establishing a new career-high in points with 29 in an 87-67 PMC setback to Lasell College on Saturday while also grabbing six rebounds and two steals. For the week, she averaged 26 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2 steals and one assist per game.
The GSAC sports information directors nominate Player of the Week candidates and then vote on the top two nominees in each sport as selected by the conference office. Player of the Week voting occurs on Tuesdays and the weekly announcement of the winners is released each Wednesday morning.
