President Gloria Nemerowicz was honored at this year’s Germaine Lawrence Women of Excellence breakfast at The Harvard Club on November 5. Over 350 people were in attendance, including MA First Lady Diane Patrick. President Nemerowicz made the College proud and raised our visibility in front of a very important audience. A young woman, who was helped by Germaine Lawrence, described numerous challenges she has face in her life. She is currently enrolled in a community college, but is hoping to transfer to a four-year school and study psychology. When President Nemerowicz spoke, she told this young woman how much Pine Manor would love a student like her. The student, with the woman who has served as her surrogate mother the past few years, came to PMC that afternoon, met with Admissions and Financial Aid, and is planning to transfer to PMC in January. Germaine Lawrence is New England’s leading provider of residential treatment for at-risk adolescent girls.
