Co-curriculum – what happens outside the classroom – is as important for learning as what goes on inside the classroom. Many Pine Manor College graduates recall the importance of what they learned by participating in the community life on campus and in the city of Boston. Experiences outside the classroom provide abundant opportunities for learning how to work together, to govern, solve problems, and have fun. |

It doesn’t take long for a student to find her place in the PMC community. First-year students meet new people and get involved immediately. The Student Life staff helps students get oriented to college life and provides counsel and guidance as needed. In this environment of support, individuals are challenged to stretch beyond what they have already achieved. Pine Manor College students discover new things about themselves and explore their capabilities for leadership. Student OrganizationsStudent organizations provide many opportunities for co-curricular learning. Students are sure to find a club, affinity group, or service organization that will provide a place to use their talents and expand their abilities. Fun activities abound on campus and there is always room for new groups to form with student interest.
Performing ArtsWhether as a member of the dance ensemble, part of a choral group, a host on the student radio station, or an actor in one of PMC’s theatrical productions, students have the chance to perform and hone their artistic communication skills. AthleticsAthletics at PMC include seven varsity sports, intramural competition, recreational events, and numerous activities to enhance health and physical fitness. The “Gators” compete in Division III of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and are part of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference. Fitness enthusiasts can take advantage of aerobics classes, yoga sessions, self-defense workshops, and facilities that include a dance studio, a fitness center, and new outdoor tennis courts.
Health & Well BeingPMC subscribes to a holistic model of wellness and health that respects the inseparable relationship of mind, body, and spirit. Primary healthcare and personal counseling services are provided by professional staff members in the Health and Wellness Center to all students. We strive to provide an environment where young women learn to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Residence LifeLiving arrangements on campus create a sense of community right from the start. First-year students and their roommates live in large double rooms sharing a residence hall with 30 other women. Students can request available single rooms after their first year. There are five residence halls in each village and three villages all together. Small lounges in each residence hall facilitate student interaction and each village has its own Commons area with a larger central lounge. The residence life staff helps organize social events, group outings, workshops, films, and discussions about contemporary issues.
Service to CommunityCommunity service is an honored tradition at PMC. Students are challenged with numerous opportunities to participate in service learning.
