Material Matters: Fabric Collages and Quilts

Salerno's work explores the tension between representing nature and the inherent artifice in pictures of the natural. Images are derived from Hudson River School Landscapes, Chinese screen painting and Islamic pattern design, to name a few.

Williamson's work incorporates hand printed textures with pieces of scrap fabric and hand stamped shapes to create collages in fabric.
