In July 2008, Ryan McCarthy joined the Pine Manor staff as Sports Information Director. As the Gators inaugural full-time SID, he serves as the primary publicist for the athletic department and its all of its NCAA Division III varsity sports.
Prior to Pine Manor, McCarthy served as graduate assistant for sports information at Medaille College from 2007 to 2008. He assisted in the production of game day documents and statistical compilation for the school's 13 varsity sports, representing the Lady Mavs as traveling publicist for the first two rounds of the 2008 NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. He meanwhile served as a learning strategist in the Office of Athlete Academic Services at the University at Buffalo, mentoring the Bulls Division I student-athletes in a number of areas critical to academic success.
From 2006 to 2007, McCarthy honed his skills as sports information graduate intern at Buffalo State College, catering to the department's stat keeping and game management needs. At his alma mater, St. Bonaventure University, he served as an athletic communications intern from 2005 to 2006. The in-game statistician for the Bonnies 2005 men's and women's soccer teams, he also assisted with statistical and game management duties for the Atlantic 10 school's men's and women's basketball teams.
In 2005, McCarthy received his B.A. from St. Bonaventure's Jandoli School of Journalism and Mass Communications. He earned his M.S. in Student Personnel Administration in 2008 from the State University of New York at Buffalo State College.
