PMC Annual Student Activities Fair
Come to the Student Activities Fair on September 19th 12pm-2pm and find out how you can apply your skills and talents in one or more of PMC’s student organizations. The Activities Fair is a campus-wide gathering that occurs once a year and brings together students who share similar interests. This is an excellent opportunity for you to get involved in your community and bring your individual skill, talent, and passion into action.
The fair is also an opportunity to create and promote your own club initiative. For instance, last year, ten Pine Manor students created a Model United Nations organization, inspired by a course taught by Prof. Vogele. The program brings over five thousand students from all over the world to simulate the diplomatic process. One of the wonderful outcomes of this student-led initiative, was the great accomplishment of our own, Regine Albine, junior at Pine Manor College who was selected to participate in the highly competitive CHANGE program from Oxfam America. Getting involved in one club can bring you to an array of incredible experiences and opportunities.
By participating in student-led organizations/clubs you can learn from your peers share your talents with the community while also contributing time into something you enjoy. Approximately fourteen clubs will be hosted at this year’s fair. They range from very specific such as the Science and Psychology Club, and Drama Queens to clubs of more general interest such as step dancing, dance ensemble and choir, to cultural organizations such as the International Club and Afriqueplus.
Stephan Donovan, director of International Student Services and advisor for the International Club, one of our community’s leading organizations, encourages all students to “take ownership of and be willing participants in student activities and clubs to enrich the learning experience at Pine Manor”. The international club successfully hosts over fourteen events throughout the semester and welcomes all students to actively participate in these community-focused activities.
So save the day and time and don’t miss out on the opportunity to get involved in your PMC community!
