Deadline for submission is September 1, 2007

The 2007-08 Pine Manor College Student Health Insurance Plan is underwritten by Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York and is serviced by University Health Plans, Inc. The Plan offers liberal coverage at a reasonable cost and supplements the services provided at the on-campus Health & Wellness Center. The Plan provides worldwide coverage twenty-four hours a day, throughout the policy period, from August 15, 2007 to August 15, 2008. This feature can be especially reassuring to graduating students who may need a few months following graduation to secure employment. Many seniors enroll in the Plan to insure they will have this extended coverage.

ALL PINE MANOR STUDENTS ARE AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED IN AND BILLED
THE ANNUAL PREMIUM OF $1,050.00 FOR THE STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN

A student may waive participation in the plan and have this charge removed from her student account by documenting that she has comparable coverage under another plan. All students are required to complete the online enrollment or waiver form which must be filed by September 1, 2007. The online enrollment waiver is the only accepted process for making your insurance selection.

NO REFUNDS GRANTED AFTER SEPTEMBER 19, 2007

The state requires Health Insurance for all Full-time and Three-quarter time students. (See MA state requirements)

Comparable Coverage
For coverage to qualify as comparable, Massachusetts Law requires that the policy must:

  • Be in effect throughout the 2007-08 academic year
  • Provide comprehensive coverage of hospital (inpatient and outpatient), physician services, mental health services, prescription drug coverage, lab work, X-rays and other diagnostic tests.
  • Provide coverage for doctors, hospitals and other healthcare providers in the Boston area.
  • Be underwritten by a U.S. insurance carrier. FOREIGN POLICIES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE.

Please Note: College students are NOT eligible for the new Commonwealth Care Plan.

If you have MASSHEALTH, your coverage ends on your 19th birthday (unless you are permanently disabled or have a child). Since Massachusetts law requires that all college students be covered by health insurance, you will be required to enroll in the PMC Student Health Insurance Plan upon reaching age 19.

The Uncompensated Care Pool, which is commonly known as "Free Care" does not qualify as comparable coverage and enrollment in the Pine Manor Health Insurance Program is required.
