Students study the science of foods, their components, and the human body’s needs, including evaluation of diet and nutritional status using a life span approach. Also included are issues such as women’s health research, diet, heart disease, and malnutrition. Offered Fall semester in alternate years.

Students improve their ability to communicate through the composition and delivery of seven original speeches. Special attention is given to stage fright, audience analysis, organizing and developing content, and delivery.

Online EXL 110 Leadership Values: Influence of Sport on Individual Identity

Society and culture have been defined, in many ways, by our leaders. This course will examine the benefits and disadvantages of various leadership methods throughout our culture. We will delve into how athletics has provided many of these leaders throughout cultural history and how we should use their example to help shape our community through athletic leadership.

EXL 120 Conflict Resolution Concepts, Process, and Skills: Mediation and Restorative Practices
5/28/2019 - 6/27/2019 | on Tuesdays from 1pm-4pm and on Thursdays from 9am-5pm (12pm-1pm lunch break)

This is a course focused on developing students’ skills in conflict resolution practices, as well as building understandings of concepts and process structures. Mediation and restorative practices are the selected process upon which the course will focus. We would hope that a course such as this might have special relevance and benefit to leadership among the PMC student body and other community members.

Online EN 102 Persuasive Writing (Composition II)

Builds on the skills and processes introduced in EN 101/CC 110, but introduces more challenging academic writing. This class emphasizes the rhetoric of analytic and persuasive writing and information literacy in the context of the research paper.
