CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Great South Athletic Conference has announced its 2012-2013 All-Conference Award winners and a trio of Pine Manor College Women’s Basketball players have earned all-conference awards. The trio is headlined by freshman Alexis Lee (Akron, OH) who has been named the 2013 GSAC Freshman of the Year.
Lee is joined on the GSAC All-freshman team by classmate Sybil Lynch (Hoboken, NJ), while Gator sophomore Natasia Franklin (Windsor, CT) was named to the GSAC All-Conference team after leading the Gators with 16 points per game and 10.2 rebounds per game on the season.
Lee (pictured above, middle) was second in the league in scoring with an average of 16.0 points per game. The dynamic first-year star also led the conference in free throw shooting percentage (77,6%) and finished second overall in assists with 79. She displayed her shooting skills by leading the league in three-point shooting percentage (38.6) and three’s made per game (2.8).
Lynch (above, right), the other half of PMC's first-year backcourt duo, finished second on the Gators in scoring at 14.0 PPG. The freshman guard scored 20+ points four times this season, including in back-to-back games to close out the regular season. Lynch collected 3.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game for Gators while knocking down 37 three-pointers on the season, the second most on the team. She was most recently named the GSAC Player of the Week earlier this week.
A sophomore forward from Windsor, CT, Franklin (above, left) averaged a double-double this season, finishing as Pine Manor's leading scorer at 16.0 PPG and leading rebounder at 10.2 RPG. Franklin finished second on the team in assists with 51 (2.3 APG) and led the Gators in field goal percentage, shooting at .448 % on the season. She was the team leader in blocks with 11 on the season while finishing second on the Gators in steals with 53.
