Develops perceptual and manual skills necessary in responsive drawing. Major objective is the development of “seeing” in a way that can be translated into all forms of drawing. May be repeated for credit. Group IV

Examines photographic visualization and communication through experimentation with camera control and darkroom techniques. Group IV

VA 225 Color, Rabe. TR 1 – 2:45
Intensive exploration of color starting with the color wheel. Analysis of various color theories, including Itten and Albers. Designed to sharpen perception and increase color sensitivity. Pre-requisite: a 100 level or above VA course, or permission. Group IV

VA 355 Design for the World Wide Web, Tocci. WF 10 – 11:30
Learn the industry standard program for web page design and production. Pre-requisite: VA 150 or permission. Group IV

Investigates the Italian Renaissance from its origins through the late 16th century. Group I

AH 290 Creating Their Own Image: African-American Women Artists, Frazier. T 6 – 8:30 pm
Examines themes and traditions in the history of African-American women artists by exploring the ways black women traditionally use art to challenge social norms, and raise issues of gender and identity in their roles as writers, artists, and activists from the Colonial period to the present. Group I

Focuses on Picasso, his contemporaries, and Modernism. Pre-requisite: AH101 or VA 103 or permission. Group I
