Volleyball Falls at Becker, 3-1

LEICESTER, Mass. – For the second straight match, Pine Manor Women's Volleyball rallied to force a fourth set but were unable to come away with a victory, dropping a 3-1 decision at Becker College on Thursday evening. The Hawks took the match thanks to set scores of 25-11, 25-9, 16-25 and 25-16 to earn thier first victory of the season and improve to 1-7 overall. Pine Manor drops to 0-7 with the loss.

PMC Junior Natasia Franklin (Windsor, CT) put down  a game high 12 kills for the Gators. Phalogne Pierre(Boston, MA), pictured above, led the Gator defense with 14 digs while also collecting three service aces on the match. PMC junior Destiny Mann (Orlando, FL) finished with seven kills and 12 digs. Pierre's serving played a large part in the Gators third set victory, as PMC was able to race out to a 13-1 lead en route to the set victory.

Becker freshman Marissa Turner (Coventry, RI) led the Hawks with ten kills, while junior Lauren LaVallee (Millbury, MA) dished out a game high 16 assists.

The Gators will return to the court on Saturday when they take on Pratt and host Saint Joseph University (CT)in a tri-match beginning at 10 am. Meanwhile, Becker will travel to Rivier College for a match at 11:00 AM.
